Help Make My Film Production Journal Entry - December 21, 2003
Boy oh boy, putting this band together is the most frustrating thing I've had to deal with so far. And this is only item 10 on the list of 1001 things to do before you make a movie. I have spent the entire weekend auditioning drummers and guitarists for the band. I'm thinking about adding a rhythm guitarist to the band who can also do some lead. The guitarist that I currently have is good but he's been performing with another band for 3 years now. They have a heavier metal rap sound (ie. POD, Rage Against the Machine). Anyway, if their band gets signed to a label, he may not be available to work on my project. So I want another guitarist I can work with permanently. I'm not set on it yet because I haven't found a guitarist that fits into the scheme of the band. Oh well, just gotta keep turning over the stones, another one is out there, I just haven't met him yet.
Aside from that, I'm ready to scrap the first wacky stunt idea because I can't get the costume made right. I'll give it another attempt in January and if it doesn't work, I'll try something a little simpler.
Oh brother, there is so much to do and very little time to do it. I think when this whole thing is done, I am going to go somewhere with no TVs, no computers, no cellphones, maybe no phones period. I think I'll find some little shack on a white sand beach where I can wind down from all of this stuff. The only thing I'll need is a journal and a CD player for some music. Maybe a week will do it, I don't know. But if my nerves get anymore frayed, it may take another month to wind down.
Well it's not all bad, I have met some wonderful artists with great talent. Their talents only inspire me to keep doing what I'm doing. So gotta go. I'm trying to plan a 4-song demo and I'll need to have a lot more material to sift through to find the best material for us.
