Florida Filmmaker’s Website Invites Visitors to Help Make Her Film
Ft. Lauderdale - Actress/Filmmaker Evann Black announces the official launch of her website www.helpmakemyfilm.com. The website invites visitors to donate money, goods and services to help make her first feature film “Wildflower”.
The film “Wildflower” is the fictional struggle of a second generation crack-addicted prostitute who finds her way off the streets through music. Set on Ft. Lauderdale's infamous Sistrunk Boulevard, this film plans to capture the raw reality of street life.
Low on funds to make this ambitious project, Evann takes her plight to the public through the website. The site contains information about the movie, filmmaker, sponsors and a weekly tally among its features. Evann is also planning a series of wacky stunts to raise public awareness. The first is to be performed on a South Florida beach in October.
The fundraising goal is $45,000. Evann also plans to barter and solicit donations for additional products and services. She says cast and crew pay will be deferred until the film is picked up for distribution. The film includes live musical performances and Evann's band Carousel as well as other artists will write and record the music.
The sponsor's page highlights Delance, an international watch company and Costumes Etc, a Ft. Lauderdale costume shop.
To date the website has raised a total of $741.00; $141 from visitor donations and website sales, $600 from Evann Black. Filming is set to begin August of 2004 after fundraising is complete.
